DUNE AWAKENING

MARVEL RIVAL MATCH-MAKING

Beta Recap (Mid-May to Late May):

  • Act I Access (20–25 hrs): Created your own Arrakis survivor—Bene Gesserit schemer, Mentat scout, Swordmaster duelist, or Trooper grappler—while securing water and dodging sandworms.

  • Early Guild Mechanics: Joined Atreides or Harkonnen, built basic Solido outposts, and skirmished PvE spice-field fights.

  • Survival Core: Managed stillsuits, water rationing, and sandbike escapes through Coriolis storms.

  • Base-Build Prototype: Placed foreboding fortress blueprints but lacked full blueprint saving and private-server hosting.

What’s New in Release (Early Access on June 5 / Full Launch on June 10):

  • Act II & Fremen Camps: Beta’s first act now polished; Act II adds deeper Bene Gesserit infiltration missions, the return of neutral Fremen camps (trading cryo-gear), and expanded desert zones with ancient Atreides ruins.

  • Guild War Upgrades: Full fortress building—with turret upgrades, spice-refinery modules, and saved blueprints—plus “Sandworm Gauntlet” events where multiple teams vie for spice fields.

  • Spice Economy Launch: Harvest spice with new automated harvesters; defend fields from Harkonnen raids; sell spice on dynamic auction hubs.

  • Mass PvP Raids: Sieges now let entire guilds storm opposing forts using lasgun emplacements and capture strategic spice convoys.

  • Enhanced AI Threats: New Harkonnen patrols and Arrakeen traitors drop rare blueprints for “Forbidden Weapons” (cryo-las rifles, advanced sand-anchor traps).

  • QoL & UI Polish: Streamlined HUD (water/spice gauges, storm warnings), and integrated “Radio Channel” for real-time guild chat—no more fumbling between Discord and the game.

Marvel Rivals uses two distinct matchmaking pipelines, Quick Play and Competitive. Each with its own rules and hidden metrics. Below is a breakdown of how both systems work, what factors they consider, and how they influence your match experience.

QUICK PLAY (QP)• QP isn’t pure Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM). Instead, it uses EOMM to keep you hooked:

  • Win Streak Breakers: If you’re racking up wins, QP might toss you into tougher lobbies or pair you with lower-skill teammates to slow you down.

  • Loss “Handouts”: After a string of defeats, you might face easier opponents or bot-heavy lobbies so you snag a few wins and stick around.• Every player still has a hidden MMR, but QP manipulates pairings (and sometimes even in-game factors) to maintain a roller-coaster win/loss pattern—never too predictable, never too easy.• Cross-play is fully enabled. The game first filters by your region (NA, EU, etc.) to minimize lag, then applies the EOMM/MMR logic—even if it means matching PC and console players together.

THE ACOLYTES

R.E.P.O UPDATE ONE

OLYMPIC COMPETITORS

Acolytes of Zeus: Enforce the Code of Conduct, manage channels/permissions, and handle disputes to keep Sin City orderly and respectful.

Acolytes of Artemis & Apollo: Ensure roster submissions, match rules (hero/map bans, time limits, no-stalling), and scheduling deadlines are followed; oversee 6v6 scrims, enforce fair play, and report results.

Acolyte of Hermes: Maintain and troubleshoot bots/commands, document updates, and relay user feedback to ensure smooth chat functionality.

Acolytes of Dionysus: Foster positivity by celebrating wins, welcoming newcomers, and organizing casual events (game nights, art prompts, playlists) to keep engagement high.

R.E.P.O. Update 1 Beta is now available on Steam (right-click R.E.P.O. → Properties → Betas → “beta”), and it addresses several top player requests. The notorious health‐pack glitch—where you could spam “E” to restore full health after extraction—is finally fixed, and the devs are considering a new stamina‐regen upgrade (crouch to recover stamina) as compensation.

Under the hood, Update 1 overhauls core physics to eliminate the “death wobble” (that erratic shaking when you had high strength upgrades), ensuring items and weapons no longer jitter uncontrollably. A brand‐new weapon—the Photon Blaster—lets you fire concentrated laser beams, while the Phase Bridge (akin to Portal 2’s Hard Light Bridges) can be used as a walkway or ladder to reach previously inaccessible areas.

Olympic Competitors of Sin City: We’re locking in custom 6v6 showdowns, and we need your input! Comment below with the day of the week you’re free and tell us which game you’d rather battle in—Marvel Rivals or Overwatch. Once we’ve gathered everyone’s availability, the Acolytes of Zeus will coordinate matchups, assign team captains, and post the final schedule in #events.

So drop your available day and preferred game below (for example: “Wednesday – Marvel Rivals” or “Saturday – Overwatch”), and let’s see which weekday becomes Sin City’s epic 6v6 battleground. May the best team claim the title and the bragging rights—let us know, and game on!

WHERE TO PLAY DUNE

COMPETITIVE (RANKED)• Ranked unlocks around Level 15 (usually after 20–30 QP matches). You’ll see “Rank Tiers” (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc.), but there’s more to it than meets the eye.• While Ranked supposedly uses SBMM—matching you with players in your tier or adjacent tiers—EOMM still lurks in the shadows to control your climb:

  • Artificial Climb Caps: If you win too easily, the system can stretch out matches or widen MMR brackets so you don’t rocket up a tier overnight.

  • Queue-Time Balancing: At mid-tiers (Gold/Plat), Ranked sometimes loosens strict MMR ranges or slips in EOMM tweaks to avoid absurdly long waits. That means you might face tougher opponents than your rank suggests—or catch a break when the queue is thin.• The bottom line? Your hidden MMR still drives matchups, but EOMM is quietly steering the pace—ensuring you’re not climbing (or falling) too fast, even in Ranked.

TL;DR:

  • Quick Play: Pure EOMM carousel—win streak breaks and loss handouts.

  • Ranked: Claims SBMM, but EOMM still limits how fast you can climb or drop, especially in Gold/Plat.

  • Always Cross-Play & Region-Aware: Both modes filter by server region first, then apply these matchmaking rules.

Stay salty (and skeptical), Sinners—Rivals is always watching your win/loss ratio.

Thinking about trekking the dunes of Arrakis with a crew that has your back? Reach out to Acolyte of Zeus WarHalo—he’s already hosting a massive RageQuit guild grinding Dune: Awakening around the clock. From first-time stillsuit crafters to seasoned sandworm hunters, WarHalo’s server is the go-to hub for quest tips, fort-building blueprints, and coordinated spice convoys. Whether you need help surviving your first Coriolis storm or you want to join a full-scale guild raid on a rival outpost, WarHalo’s team has the resources (and the patience) to guide you through every scorch and surprise.

Joining WarHalo’s Dune community means instant access to voice channels where experienced players share real-time strategies—like where to place automated harvesters safely or how to detect Harkonnen patrols before they strike. New players can pair up with mentors for crafting sessions, learn to pilot sandbikes across the desert, and discover hidden Fremen camps for rare loot. If you’re hungry for epic PvP sieges or just want to hang out while harvesting spice, this is the place to be.

Don’t wander the sands alone—slide into WarHalo’s DMs or hop into his server today. Whether you’re looking for a squad to clear Act II missions or you want to show off your first fortress blueprint, the RageQuit Dune guild is ready to welcome you. Gear up, gather your fellow Sinners, and let’s claim Arrakis as our next playground!

REPO UPDATE ONE cont.

There’s also the Tumblewings upgrade, which grants small gliding capabilities so you can safely descend from high ledges.

Quality‐of‐life improvements include more responsive Overcharge mechanics, balance tweaks to Strength Strat and semibot armor values, and planned stamina‐regen upgrades tied to crouching (still in testing). The devs invite you to join the beta branch now to experience— and break—these features firsthand, then share your feedback on the official R.E.P.O. Discord so they can polish everything before full launch.
